How to Enable TCP/IP protocol over a network To solve this problem, we need to enable the TCP/IP protocol over the network for SQL Server to be able to access over the network so docker can connect to it. Hence the Data Source=(local) or named server is not the same when the app runs inside the docker. The docker container is running as a separate machine inside your host machine.
